Ah, but how many books did you read for that $10.80. In a family of voracious readers, that $10.80 in fines will always add up to far more books that I ever could have gotten from a bookstore or even paperback swap for the same "investment in my county library". (There you have it, but rationalization for my/our late fees! Feel free to adopt it for yourself!)
